In Islam, white days are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth of each Hijri month. It is recommended to fast Al Ayam al-Bid. Indeed, whoever observes the fast of the 13th, 14th and 15th of each hijri month, would have the same merit as a person who had fasted a full month.
The white days were named with this name because the moon becomes full during these days and the light becomes strong which makes their nights completely bright especially in the desert.
Voluntary fasting, fasting 3 days (the 3 white days) of each lunar month, and the best if it was the white days (ayam el bide) - compared to its sleepless nights due to the full moon - which are the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth day of each hijri month.
The white days islam correspond only to the 13th, 14th and 15th days of the month of the Muslim calendar. However, if you fast three days that do not correspond to Ayam El Bid, you still get the reward of supererogatory fasting. Indeed, in a Hadith (El Bukhari, Muslim), the Prophet said: "Whoever fasts for a day for Allah, Allah, exalted be He, as a reward, will remove the heat of Hell from his face from a distance traveled in seventy years”.
Furthermore, it is desirable to nurture the intention to fast on white days the day before the first day.
The Imams of Jurisprudence have agreed that it is Sunnah to fast on the white days of each month. The majority of Hanafi, Shafia and Hanbali jurists are of the opinion that it is desirable to fast on white days. They rely on the many prophetic hadiths that encourage fasting these days.
And whoever fasts on the white days, it is as if he were fasting all eternity, and he will be rewarded for fasting them with a great and double reward, as the said the Messenger of God, prayer and peace be upon him (Three-day fasting of the month, for a good deed is rewarded tenfold, and it is like fasting forever).
If a Muslim does not fast the three ayem al byde (white day), he will not be in sin, but he will be deprived of the reward. God, Blessed and Exalted, multiplies whomever He wills from among His righteous servants, and the reward for this is confirmed by the Quran.
White day fasting has great benefits that have been confirmed by modern science. Many scientific studies have proven that the moon has an effect on the human psyche which appears when it is full, i.e. on the thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth days of each lunar month, because during this period, nervous and psychological irritability is exacerbated.
The reason for this and its scientific explanation That the human body consists of 80% water, and the rest is just solid materials, just like the surface of the earth, and since the gravitational force of the moon causes tides in the seas and oceans, it also causes this tide in the human body, and it happens when the moon is full in white days.
The recommendation of the three white day fast is considered a prophetic sign to prevent crimes, accidents and dangerous diseases...Fasting is not only a worship, but it is also a kind of mercy, health, protection and happiness for man.
The Prophet Muhammad -peace and blessings be upon him- is truly the mercy bestowed on us by Almighty Allah who says about the Prophet Muhammad "And We did not send you, [O Muhammad], that as a mercy to the worlds.'' [Al-Anbiya' 21:107] { وَمَا ْرْسَلْنَاكَ َإلاَ رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ }
This scientific truth reveals one of the miracles of the prophet which indicates his quality as a prophet and also affirms that Islam is the true religion revealed by the Creator of the earth and the heavens who made the laws natural scientists.
Fourteen centuries ago, no one knew this scientific truth. Allah Almighty says about his prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - "He also does not speak according to [his] inclination: it is only a revealed revelation" [Al-Najm 53:3-4]
The purpose of this prophetic sign is to remind man to always return to Allah and not to be misled. The Almighty Allah says: Whoever fears [Allah] will be reminded. But the miserable to avoid - & quot; [al-A & # x27; la] {سيذكر من يخشى)10( ويتجنبها الأشقى )11(} .
What is meant by al-Ayaam al-Beed is the 13th, 14th and 15th day of each lunar month, for Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): They ask you about the new moons . Say: These are signs to mark fixed periods of time for mankind and for pilgrimage [al-Baqarah 2:189]. Thus, the timing of certain acts of worship such as the Ayaam al-Beed fast; are calculated according to the lunar months of the Hijri or Islamic calendar, and not according to the solar months of the Gregorian or Western calendar.
There is a strong relationship between the Moon and the Earth, on the one hand, and the Moon with the human body on the other hand. The Moon has a gravity on Earth that causes ebb and flow. The moon also has gravity on the human body which causes an ebb and flow for humans as the human body is made up of the same elements of the earth. This ebb and flow effect on the earth and the human body reaches its peak in the white days; (thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth days of each lunar month).
Indeed, the ebb and flow effect on land appears in the oceans and seas, while this effect on humans manifests as increased excitement and excitement. #x27;agitation (nervousness, tension, confusion and worry). It is also noted that the greatest number of crimes, suicides, thefts, accidents and divorces occur on these days.
Dr. Muhammad Ali Al Bar, reported that Dr. Leber, a psychologist in Miami in the United States, indicated that " there is a strong relationship between the completion of the Moon cycle and human violent actions, especially towards alcoholics, those with criminal tendencies, and the emotionally unstable. After collecting the statistics and analyzes from the accident register in hospitals and police stations and comparing their dates with lunar days, it became clear to him that the rate of crimes committed and road accidents are related to the completion of the lunar cycle.
His studies have also proven that the greatest number of divorces and serious conflicts take place in the middle of the lunar month, when the moon is full. Dr. Leber explains his theory by saying, "The human body, like the earth's surface, is 80% water and 20% solids, so he believes lunar gravity is responsible for the flow and ebb in human bodies and oceans, when the moon is full on white days.
Dr. Al Bar commented on this study saying: " The prophetic medicine for these problems is to fast the three white days, because fasting reduces the level of water in the human body during this period, during which the effect of the moon on the moon. man reaches his climax, and it helps man to control his body, powers and tendencies, to avoid the effect of gravity and to keep calm and healthy.
"It is recorded that the Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- did not break his fast in the white days, whether he was traveling or staying" ; [Al-Albani].
It is also reported that "the Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him - ordered us to fast on the white days (thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth)". [Al-Albani].
The Prophet -peace and blessings be upon him- said "Fasting three days of each month (13, 14 and 15) is equivalent to fasting for life" [Declared Hasan by Al-Albani].
In addition to this, in another hadith we learn that Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Observing Saum (fasting) three days a month is equivalent to a full month of fasting. » [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Fasting is an act highly rewarded by Almighty Allah.
Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Allah, the Majestic and the Exalted said: Every act of the son of Adam is for him except fasting. It's done for me, and I'll give a reward for it. By Allah in whose hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the fast-watcher is sweeter to Allah than the fragrance of musk. [Sahih Muslim]
Also, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The reward for every (good) deed of a person is multiplied ten to seven hundred times. Allah (SWT) says: “The reward of observing Saum (fasting) is different from the reward of other good deeds; Saum is for me, and I alone will give his reward. The person observing Saoum s' refrain from eating and drinking only for me.' The fasting person has two joyful occasions, one when breaking his fast, and the other when meeting his Rubb. Surely the breath of one who observes Saum smells better to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
In addition to this, it was reported that Abu Umamah said, “I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, tell me what I should do. ' He said: ' Take the fast, because there is nothing like it.' [Sunan An-Nasa'i ].
