According to Abu Hurayrah - may God be pleased with him - who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Verily, Allah ta'ala said: Whoever shows enmity towards a wali (friend) of mine, then I declare war on him. And my servant comes to me with nothing more beloved than the religious duties I have imposed upon him. And My servant keeps approaching Me with nawafil (supererogatory) acts until I love him. When I love him, I am his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. If he asked me [something], I would surely give it to him; and if he sought refuge with me, I would surely grant him refuge.[Sahih Al-Bukhari]

This hadith shows that closeness to Allah is achieved by performing obligatory deeds and then increasing to nawafil (voluntary). This leads to the Love of Allah. And the reward is: " Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah will have no fear about them, nor will they be grieved. Those who believed and feared Allah. For them it is good news in this worldly life and in the hereafter. There is no change in the promise of Allah. This is ˹really˺ the ultimate triumph. (Quran 10:62-64)

Guidelines for Fasting during White Days

Fasting during the White Days, which occur on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each lunar month in the Islamic calendar, is a practice cherished and recommended in Islam. This voluntary fast, though not obligatory like that of Ramadan, holds immense spiritual significance. To observe this fast properly, one should start at dawn (Fajr) and end at sunset (Maghrib), abstaining from food, drink, and other physical needs during daylight hours. It is also a time for heightened spiritual reflection, increased prayer, and acts of charity. The White Days are seen as an opportunity to gain extra blessings and cleanse oneself spiritually. Muslims are encouraged to approach these days with sincere intention and use them as a means to draw closer to Allah, seeking His pleasure and forgiveness. By combining physical discipline with spiritual growth, fasting during the White Days becomes a holistic practice that nurtures both body and soul

Abu Umamah Al-Bahili said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me something by which Allah will benefit me. He said: Fast, for there is no such thing.
